Catching up... this is just half of them.

BTW, my Aviation Photo Gallery #6 has reached an incredible 27,469 views now. I still have no idea why. I didn't do anything different with it, and cannot find where it got picked up or re-posted. In the last 6 months it has slowed to roughly 5,000 page views a year.

Always love these photos.

I'm with Gary above. Any idea what the Beluga Airbus is used for? It's clearly not a passenger plane.

I've seen a similar aircraft which was used in the 1960s and '70s for transporting large rocket bodies and similar aviation parts, light in weight but very large and bulky, from manufacturer to launch area. It was known as the "Pregnant Guppy" and was built and operated by Aero Space Lines of Van Nuys CA.

Or maybe it carries caviar on a very large bed of ice.

Yes, it's a cargo plane for aircraft parts and other awkwardly large payloads.

Only 5 of them have been built.

It almost looks to big to fly... especially with only two engines.
